Channahon, IL: Parolee Arrested with Over 3,000 Grams of Cannabis and Firearm in Police Raid

Channahon, IL — A parole compliance check in Channahon resulted in the arrest of a man who was found with a significant drug haul, including over 3,000 grams of cannabis, along with a stolen firearm. The Grundy County Proactive Unit, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Corrections, conducted the check on Monday at a residence in the 26000-block of Raintree Ct., focusing on 24-year-old Nicolas J. Pouncy, who is on parole for a felony weapons possession charge.

During the compliance check, officers discovered 75 grams of cocaine, 3,152 grams of cannabis, and various controlled substances including 255 oxycodone pills, eight ecstasy (MDMA) pills, and 44 clonazepam pills. Additionally, a handgun that was determined to be stolen was found within the residence.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Pouncy was immediately taken into custody and charged with multiple counts of drug possession with intent to deliver. These charges include possession of cannabis exceeding 2,000 grams, cocaine between 15 and 100 grams, and various other controlled substances. Furthermore, Pouncy faces charges related to the possession of the stolen firearm.

Due to a no-bond parole violation warrant issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections, Pouncy remains in the Grundy County Jail as the investigation continues. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the illegal activities involved.
