South winds will increase slightly, helping bring in moisture and instability that could fuel storms across Champaign, Urbana, and surrounding counties.
Saturday will stay warm, with highs near 88, but scattered showers could begin after midnight into Sunday morning. Storms may impact morning travel Sunday, particularly along I-57 and U.S. 45, where wet roads and reduced visibility are possible. By Sunday night, showers are likely, and a few thunderstorms could continue into Monday.
Residents are urged to prepare for periods of heavy rain and possible lightning by limiting outdoor plans and keeping devices charged in case of power outages.
Showers remain possible into early next week, with highs cooling into the low 80s by Monday and Tuesday.
