Champaign, Ill. – Central Illinois will see one more stretch of hot, dry weather before storm chances move in this weekend. Highs are expected to reach near 91 degrees Friday, with mostly sunny skies dominating through the end of the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, isolated showers may begin late Friday night, with better chances of thunderstorms developing by early Sunday. South winds will increase slightly, helping bring in moisture and instability that could fuel storms across Champaign, Urbana, and surrounding counties.
