Champaign, IL Crash on US-150 Causes Major Delays Thursday Evening

Champaign, IL – Drivers in Champaign are facing detours this morning after a crash closed part of US-150 eastbound near Staley Road.

According to Illinois State Police Troop 7, the crash happened about 0.4 miles east of Staley Road on US-150. As of Thursday, eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Staley Road southbound. Westbound drivers are also affected, with no left turns permitted from US-150 onto Staley Road South.

Troopers advised motorists to use Rising Road or other alternate routes until the vehicle involved can be removed by tow operations. No immediate timeline for reopening was provided.

The incident is expected to cause delays for morning commuters in Champaign, particularly for those traveling between rural areas and Urbana-Champaign. Police are reminding drivers to remain cautious and patient while detours are in place.
