LAS VEGAS — The city’s largest annual event returned in early January, transforming daily life across Las Vegas for nearly a week.

From Jan. 6–9, 2026, the city became a hub for global innovation as CES drew more than 148,000 visitors, including about 55,000 international attendees. As a result of the sheer numbers, hotels and other accommodation was at near occupancy and rates skyrocketed.

This year, traffic congestion was manageable thanks to CES’s shuttles services that offered transport between hotels. CES attendees also received discounted rates for the monorail in efforts to alleviate the number of commuters on the Strip that locals had to contend with. However, ongoing road construction, lane restrictions and closures across the city added to commuter frustration.

While the city and the show officials strongly encouraged visitors to make use of CES shuttles and the Monorail, locals were also advised to expect longer travel time around the Las Vegas Convention Center. Navigation apps such as Waze and official city traffic updates helped residents track congestion and avoid the most impacted routes.
