GREEN BAY, Wis. – Thunderstorms are expected to roll across Wisconsin between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, bringing the potential for heavy downpours, gusty winds, and isolated hail. Travel could be slowed as multiple clusters of storms move through central and east-central counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, one or two storm systems will push through by mid-afternoon, with the strongest cells capable of producing rain rates up to 2 inches per hour. While the overall risk for severe storms remains low, forecasters caution that damaging winds and localized flooding are possible.

Areas from Wisconsin Rapids through Stevens Point, Wausau, Shawano, and into Green Bay face the highest chance of strong storms. Motorists should be prepared for ponding on roads and reduced visibility, especially along major routes such as I-39 and Highway 29. Power outages are possible if stronger winds develop.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, keep phones charged, and monitor alerts in case warnings are issued. More storm chances return Sunday and again Monday, making this an unsettled stretch for much of the state.
