Green Bay, WI – Central Wisconsin is on alert as two rounds of precipitation are expected today, bringing the potential for severe weather, including hail. The National Weather Service in Green Bay reports that the first round will consist of decaying showers crossing from Minnesota early this morning. By afternoon, a cold front will trigger stronger storms.
According to the National Weather Service, the highest risk for severe weather extends from central to southern Wisconsin. The most intense storms and greatest potential for hail will occur in the afternoon and evening. Residents are advised to stay weather aware, with damaging winds, heavy rainfall, localized flooding, and lightning also possible.
Today’s forecast indicates a 55% chance of precipitation with temperatures peaking at 87°F. Conditions will start sunny, transitioning to cloudy by midday as the storm front approaches. The weather outlook for the week shows a mix of sun and clouds with cooler temperatures following today’s storms. Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 81°F, while Wednesday brings partly cloudy skies and a high of 73°F.
