Green Bay, Wis. – Rain and thunderstorms are moving through central and northeast Wisconsin Saturday, with storms expected to intensify and spread east into the evening and overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, isolated to scattered showers will develop through the morning and afternoon across central and north-central parts of the state. By tonight, rain will become more widespread, raising the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.
Drivers along Highway 29 from Wausau to Green Bay may encounter reduced visibility and ponding on roads as storms track eastward. Communities including Appleton, Oshkosh, and Sturgeon Bay should prepare for heavy downpours by late Saturday. Outdoor events across the region may be disrupted, and residents are urged to keep an eye on rapidly changing weather conditions.
High temperatures will reach between 68 and 78 degrees before cooler, wetter conditions take hold overnight. The NWS advises limiting travel during the heaviest rainfall and ensuring cell phones remain charged in case of power outages.
Showers will linger into early Sunday before tapering off, with more updates expected as the system progresses.
