Milwaukee, WI – Residents across central and south-central Wisconsin should prepare for near-freezing temperatures early Monday morning as a Frost Advisory remains in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. CDT, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan.
The advisory was expanded Sunday evening to include Washington and Waukesha Counties, where clear skies and calm winds are expected to allow frost to form overnight. Low temperatures are forecast to dip into the mid-30s across much of the region, with the coldest readings near central Wisconsin.
According to forecasters, areas such as Fond du Lac, Dodgeville, and Jefferson could see the highest frost potential, while slightly warmer lake temperatures may keep parts of Milwaukee and Racine a few degrees above freezing.
Officials urge residents to bring sensitive plants indoors and cover outdoor vegetation before going to bed Sunday night. Early morning commuters may also notice frost on windshields or rooftops before sunrise.
The advisory is expected to expire by 8 a.m. Monday as sunshine returns and temperatures climb back into the 50s.
