Green Bay, Wisconsin – Sweltering heat and dangerous humidity are gripping central and northeast Wisconsin this weekend, with heat indices soaring to 105° in some areas. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the region, including Door County, until 7 p.m. Monday as highs linger in the mid to upper 90s.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, widespread thunderstorms could roll in Monday afternoon and evening, bringing damaging wind gusts over 60 mph, large hail up to one inch, and torrential downpours capable of localized flooding. A cold front pushing through the state will usher in the storms, with cooler air arriving by Tuesday.

Heat index values are expected to top 103° in Green Bay, Wausaukee, and Shawano, while Appleton and Rhinelander could also feel triple-digit levels. Residents are urged to stay indoors during peak heat, hydrate frequently, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Avoid leaving kids or pets in vehicles under any circumstances.

Storm timing is expected from 2 p.m. through midnight Monday. Conditions may shift based on atmospheric instability. Residents should have weather alerts enabled and remain weather-aware.

Temperatures drop sharply behind the front, with highs in the 70s expected Tuesday. Additional alerts could be issued depending on storm development.
