Enid, OK – Large portions of Oklahoma will face hazardous wind conditions Saturday as a strong north-to-northwest wind event develops across the state. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for communities stretching from the Panhandle region into central and southwest Oklahoma.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 45 mph at times. The advisory includes counties such as Harper, Woods, Alfalfa, Grant, Ellis, Woodward, Major, Garfield, Roger Mills, Dewey, Custer, Blaine, Kingfisher, Beckham, Washita, Caddo, Canadian, Greer, and Kiowa.

Residents in cities including Enid, Woodward, Elk City, Weatherford, Hobart, Kingfisher, Mustang, El Reno, and Anadarko should prepare for a windy day that may cause minor damage and scattered power issues. Forecasters warn that unsecured outdoor objects—such as lawn décor, trash bins, and lightweight equipment—may be blown around. Small tree limbs could also come down under stronger gusts.

Motorists can expect challenging travel throughout the day, especially along east–west corridors such as I-40, U.S. 60, and State Highway 152, where crosswinds may impact high-profile vehicles, trailers, and large trucks.

Wind speeds will begin increasing shortly after sunrise and remain elevated through the late afternoon before easing toward sunset. Even after the advisory ends, breezy conditions may linger through Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service urges residents to secure outdoor items, use caution while driving, and prepare for the possibility of isolated outages.
