RICHFIELD, Utah – A sharp overnight chill will settle across central and southern Utah, where the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Freeze Warning from midnight to 9 a.m. Monday.
Subfreezing temperatures as low as 26°F are expected in the Sevier and Sanpete Valleys, the Western Uinta Basin, and areas of Millard and Juab counties — including Richfield, Fillmore, Manti, Nephi, and Beaver. According to the NWS, the cold could end the growing season in many rural areas and may damage unprotected pipes or irrigation systems.
Residents are urged to cover outdoor faucets, drain sprinkler lines, and move potted plants indoors. Pet owners should ensure animals have shelter overnight, as wind chills may dip into the low 20s in open valleys and near agricultural areas.
Conditions will warm under sunny skies Monday afternoon, but another cold morning is likely midweek as calm, dry air continues across the region.
