Fort Worth, Texas – Scattered storms across Central Texas are expected to taper off Friday evening, but another round of rain could arrive before daybreak Saturday. The unsettled pattern continues to bring thunder and isolated downpours to the region, especially from Waco to Killeen and east toward Palestine.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, coverage of storms will fade after sunset, though a few showers may linger through the overnight hours. By early Saturday morning, another wave of moisture could spark showers ahead of sunrise, with steadier rain expected during the daytime.
Highs Friday will range from the mid-70s along the Red River to the mid-90s in Central Texas. Lows tonight will fall into the upper 60s to mid-70s, providing some relief after the humid afternoon. Roads in low-lying areas could see ponding during heavier bursts of rain, and lightning remains a hazard through the evening.
Residents are urged to use caution if traveling late tonight, especially in areas south of the DFW Metroplex. The wet weather is expected to persist into Saturday, with additional updates possible from the National Weather Service.
