Austin, TX – Central Texas residents can expect more unseasonably warm conditions through the weekend as highs remain in the upper 80s to mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service. Afternoon temperatures are forecast to run 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal averages, stretching across Austin, San Antonio, the Hill Country, and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio, highs will stay in the 90s for most locations through Sunday, with limited relief overnight as lows hold in the upper 60s to low 70s. Despite the heat, only a 10–20% chance of isolated afternoon showers is expected each day, leaving the majority of the region dry.

Forecast maps show widespread mid-90s across San Marcos, New Braunfels, Seguin, and Gonzales, while San Antonio is projected to reach 95 degrees Friday and Saturday. Austin’s high temperatures will hover around 92–93 degrees into early next week. Del Rio and Uvalde could see some of the hottest readings, near 96 degrees.

While the warmth may benefit outdoor events, health officials remind residents to stay hydrated and limit prolonged time in the sun, especially during afternoon hours. Drivers should also be cautious of hot roadways and pets should never be left in vehicles.

With little rain in the outlook, drought-stressed areas of South-Central Texas are likely to see continued dry conditions. A slight cool-down is not expected until later next week.
