San Antonio, Texas – Drivers and residents across Central and South Texas can expect another week of seasonably warm July weather, with high temperatures climbing into the upper 90s and near 100°F for several cities through Friday. Some relief could arrive late in the week, as rain chances increase east of I-35 starting Friday night and into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, afternoon highs will consistently reach 97°F in Austin and San Antonio from Sunday, July 20, through Friday, July 25. Eagle Pass is forecast to see triple-digit heat, with a high of 100°F on Wednesday. Lows will remain warm, hovering in the mid to upper 70s across the region.

While conditions will stay mostly dry early in the week, the probability of precipitation increases to 10-25% by Friday and Saturday, especially in Cuero, Gonzales, and La Grange. Afternoon heat indices will climb higher, and south to southeast winds could bring occasional gusts, making outdoor activities potentially hazardous.

Residents should stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure during peak heat, and keep an eye on evolving forecasts—especially as rain chances return late week. Isolated showers or sprinkles are possible, but more widespread rain is most likely Friday into the weekend for eastern counties.

Warnings for elevated heat remain in effect through the workweek, with updates possible as new advisories are issued.
