Columbia, SC – A cool, rainy start to the week is in store for much of South Carolina as widespread showers move across the region today and into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Columbia.
Forecasters say temperatures will hold steady in the 50s today, with light to moderate rain lasting through the night. Breezy conditions are also expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 25 mph at times.
Rainfall totals between 0.5 and 0.75 inches are likely across the Midlands, with isolated areas potentially seeing up to 1–2 inches by early Tuesday. The heaviest rainfall is expected during the afternoon and evening hours before tapering off Tuesday morning.
The system will bring below-average temperatures for late October, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 40s. Drier and slightly warmer weather is expected to return midweek once the rain clears.
