Columbia, SC – The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of central South Carolina and east central Georgia, effective from 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Saturday, November 1.

The advisory includes Columbia, Lexington, Aiken, Newberry, Kershaw, and Chesterfield Counties in South Carolina and Burke County, Georgia, including Augusta, Barnwell, Waynesboro, and North Augusta.

Forecasters expect temperatures to drop into the mid-30s overnight, leading to frost formation in many areas by early morning. The NWS warns that frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if left uncovered.

Residents are advised to bring potted plants indoors or cover exposed vegetation before temperatures fall overnight. The coldest readings are expected in rural and low-lying areas, where frost will be more widespread.

Temperatures will warm quickly after sunrise Saturday, with a mostly sunny and seasonably cool start to November across the Midlands and Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).
