State College, PA – A wind advisory remains in effect for Thursday, with strong gusts and blowing snow expected to impact Central Pennsylvania. The advisory runs from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m., warning of west winds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 55 mph.

The National Weather Service cautions that the combination of gusty winds and snow could make travel hazardous, particularly on routes like Interstate 80 and US-322. Falling tree limbs and scattered power outages are possible as winds strengthen throughout the morning.

Thursday’s Forecast

Rain and snow showers are expected to transition to all snow overnight into Thursday morning, with a low around 24°F. The heaviest snow could fall before 4 a.m., creating areas of blowing snow and limited visibility during the morning commute. Highs on Thursday will reach near 29°F, with snow showers tapering off by late afternoon.

By Thursday night, skies will remain mostly cloudy with occasional snow showers. Winds will ease slightly but could still gust up to 39 mph, with a low around 22°F.

Weekend Weather Outlook

Friday will be cloudy with highs near 31°F, followed by a partly sunny Saturday with highs in the mid-30s. Sunday will bring sunshine and a warming trend, with highs reaching 47°F.
