Pittsburgh, PA – A snow squall warning remains in effect until 3:15 p.m. EST for northeastern Indiana County, southern Jefferson County, central Armstrong County, and southern Clarion County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh.

At 2:41 p.m., radar detected a dangerous snow squall near New Bethlehem, moving east at 40 mph. The squall is producing intense bursts of heavy snow, wind gusts up to 35 mph, and rapidly falling visibility, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Areas Affected

Communities under the warning include Punxsutawney, Kittanning, Rimersburg, Reynoldsville, New Bethlehem, Sykesville, and East Brady, among others. Drivers should expect sudden whiteout conditions and blowing snow, making travel treacherous.

Safety Precautions

Motorists are urged to slow down immediately and be prepared for sudden changes in road conditions. If caught in a snow squall, it is safest to pull over to the side of the road if possible until visibility improves.
