Columbus, OH – Light snow and gusty winds are expected to affect much of central and southwest Ohio today, leading to slippery roads and reduced visibility during the Monday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Forecasters report that a band of moderate snow showers will move through the I-70 corridor early Monday, producing 1–2 inches of accumulation, mainly on grassy and untreated surfaces. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 20s, with wind chills dipping into the teens, and northwest gusts reaching up to 25 mph.
The Special Weather Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect for parts of Ohio, Indiana, and northern Kentucky highlight the risk of slick bridges and overpasses, particularly during the morning hours. While pavement temperatures should limit major accumulations, visibility may briefly drop under heavier bursts of snow.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and use caution on elevated surfaces. Conditions will gradually improve by Monday evening, followed by clearing skies and temperatures near 30°F overnight.
