Columbus, Ohio – 44°F highs are keeping conditions cool and slowing travel through Saturday, especially during early morning hours across central and southwest Ohio.
Below-normal temperatures are in place today, with highs ranging from the mid-40s to lower 50s across cities including Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Wilmington. The cooler air may limit road drying early in the day, particularly on shaded and rural routes.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, temperatures will steadily increase beginning Sunday, marking the start of a warming trend that continues through Tuesday. Highs will climb into the upper 50s to low 60s Sunday, then surge into the upper 60s and 70s by Monday and Tuesday.
Travel impacts today remain minor, but early drivers along I-70, I-71, and I-75 should watch for isolated slick spots or damp pavement during the morning hours.
The improving weather will support better travel conditions and outdoor activity through early next week, with dry skies expected to persist during the warm-up.
Temperatures will continue rising into Tuesday before a more active pattern potentially returns later in the week, bringing the next chance for rain and possible travel disruptions.
