Dayton, OH – Spotty showers will give way to a much wetter midweek across Ohio, with widespread rain expected Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Forecasters said Tuesday will remain relatively quiet, with only a 10% to 20% chance of rain across much of central and western Ohio. Southeastern counties, including Portsmouth and Logan, may see higher chances up to 55%.

According to the National Weather Service, rain coverage will increase tonight and become much more widespread Wednesday. Cities including Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus face an 80% to 88% chance of precipitation during the day Wednesday, with some areas near Carrollton and Maysville reaching near 90%.

The higher rain probabilities are expected to impact both morning and evening commutes. Drivers should prepare for wet roads, slower travel times, and reduced visibility. Forecasters also noted the potential for thunderstorms embedded within the rain bands, though severe weather risks remain low at this time.

Rain chances are forecast to taper late Wednesday night into Thursday, but unsettled conditions may linger.
