Glasgow, MT – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for portions of central and northeast Montana through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Glasgow. Forecasters are calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow, with locally higher totals possible in some areas.
The storm is expected to create dangerous travel conditions, especially where heavier snow bands develop. Reduced visibility, drifting snow, and slick roads will be key concerns through the weekend. The warning covers much of the Hi-Line region, including Valley, Phillips, and Daniels counties.
Meteorologists caution that blowing snow may significantly lower visibility at times, making travel hazardous, particularly along Highways 2 and 191. Residents are advised to delay nonessential travel and monitor updates for changing conditions.
The snow is forecast to taper off by early Saturday, though cold temperatures will persist into the weekend. Those venturing out should dress for winter conditions and keep emergency kits in vehicles.
The National Weather Service urges Montanans to check the latest forecasts before heading out and stay alert for additional advisories or updates as the system progresses.
