Binghamton, NY – Central and northern New York will see several rounds of lake effect rain showers through the end of the week as a series of weak disturbances move through the region, according to the US National Weather Service Binghamton.
The greatest rain chances will be concentrated along and north of the New York Thruway, where localized totals could approach a quarter inch by Friday. Areas farther south, including parts of the Southern Tier and northern Pennsylvania, may also see scattered light showers at times.
Temperatures will stay seasonably cool, with highs mainly in the 50s through Friday. While no severe weather is expected, brief downpours and reduced visibility are possible in heavier lake effect bands.
Forecasters expect the pattern to gradually shift by the weekend, bringing a mix of clouds and lingering light rain before drier weather returns early next week.
