Hastings, Nebraska – Central Nebraska is expected to remain dry this week as temperatures gradually rise into the 50s and 60s.

According to the National Weather Service office in Hastings, highs Sunday are forecast to range from the upper 40s to lower 50s under mostly cloudy skies. Despite passing clouds, no precipitation is expected across the region.

Forecasters said temperatures will begin climbing early in the week, with highs Monday reaching the upper 50s to upper 60s in some areas under mostly sunny conditions. Overnight lows are expected to remain seasonable, generally ranging from the upper 20s to upper 30s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will continue the mild trend, with highs mainly in the mid-50s to mid-60s. Cloud cover may increase at times, especially by midweek, but dry weather is expected to persist.

The National Weather Service emphasized that the region will remain under a quiet weather pattern, with no rain or snow anticipated despite occasional clouds moving through the area.

For commuters, farmers, and outdoor workers, the dry stretch and moderating temperatures may provide favorable conditions for travel and outdoor activities.

While overnight temperatures will still dip below freezing in some locations, daytime warmth will feel more like early fall than late December for much of the upcoming week.

Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring local forecasts for any changes, but no significant weather impacts are expected at this time.
