St. Louis, MO – Residents across Missouri should prepare for severe weather tonight, with the strongest storms expected between 6 p.m. and midnight. Central Missouri, including areas along the I-70 corridor, could see storms capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and brief, weak tornadoes.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, a weak storm system is tapering off this morning, but a second round of showers and storms will develop this evening. The primary hazards include damaging winds, locally heavy rain, and a marginal risk of isolated tornadoes. Winds outside of storm activity could gust up to 35 mph overnight, prompting warnings to secure loose outdoor items.

Travelers along I-70 and in surrounding areas should use caution, as visibility may be reduced in heavy rainfall.

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to improve Tuesday, with sunny skies and a high near 67°F forecasted. Breezy conditions will persist, with northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph. The week ahead shows a cooler trend, with highs in the low 50s on Wednesday and the upper 40s by Thursday.

Prepare now by securing outdoor furniture and staying weather-aware through tonight.
