Chanhassen, MN – Drivers in central Minnesota are facing hazardous travel conditions this morning as the National Weather Service (NWS) has extended a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the NWS in the Twin Cities, visibility has dropped to a quarter mile or less across Todd, Morrison, Mille Lacs, and Kanabec counties, including the cities of Long Prairie, Little Falls, Princeton, and Mora.

Forecasters warn that the fog may cause dangerous travel conditions, particularly on rural highways, river valleys, and low-lying areas where visibility can shift suddenly. Motorists are advised to slow down, turn on headlights, and allow extra following distance during the morning commute.

Conditions are expected to improve later in the morning as the fog lifts with the sunrise. Until then, drivers should allow extra travel time and remain alert for rapid changes in visibility.
