Louisville, KY – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of central Kentucky and southern Indiana through 7 p.m. Monday, as scattered snow showers create slick roads and low visibility, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.
Forecasters say a cold front moving through the region will produce periods of snow and flurries, with accumulations of up to one inch possible—mainly on bridges, overpasses, and grassy surfaces. The heaviest snow bands may clip the I-65 corridor during the morning commute, reducing visibility at times.
Winds from the northwest at 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, will contribute to wind chills in the lower 20s throughout the day. Temperatures will hover near 37°F, but icy spots could linger into the evening as skies clear.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, particularly during early-morning travel. Road crews are expected to monitor conditions as precipitation gradually ends late Monday afternoon.
Conditions will improve overnight, with sunny and milder weather returning Tuesday and highs reaching near 44°F, before a midweek warm-up pushes temperatures into the upper 50s.
