Wichita, KS – Showers and thunderstorms are expected across central and northern Kansas tonight into early Friday morning. The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued an advisory for isolated to scattered storms that could bring gusty winds, lightning, and brief heavy rain.
The forecast predicts storm chances increasing after 2 a.m., continuing through 10 a.m. Friday. Areas such as Salina, Hutchinson, and Wichita have a moderate risk, with storm probabilities ranging from 11% to 26%. Though severe weather is not anticipated, localized impacts could include reduced visibility and slick roads due to heavy rain.
According to the National Weather Service, the highest storm chances will be around Russell and Salina. Wichita and surrounding areas have a lower probability but should still prepare for potential lightning and wind gusts.
