Central Kansas Storm Warning: Wichita to See Hail and Damaging Winds Tonight

Wichita, KS – Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit central Kansas this evening, bringing potential dangers to the Wichita area.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a warning for storms capable of producing quarter-sized hail and wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. Residents are urged to stay alert from 5 PM to 10 PM, as the storms could bring significant damage.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms could cause damaging winds and heavy rainfall, leading to hazardous conditions. The primary area of concern includes Wichita and surrounding regions such as Hutchinson, Pratt, and Harper. The severe weather risk has prompted authorities to advise residents to have multiple ways of receiving warning information, especially those with outdoor plans.
