Indianapolis, IN – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect across central and west-central Indiana until 10 a.m. Sunday, as heavy snow and strong winds continue to impact travel across the region tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are expected, with gusts up to 35 mph producing areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility. The warning includes Marion, Boone, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Montgomery, Madison, Delaware, and surrounding counties.

Forecasters caution that roads will remain slick and snow-covered overnight, and any melted snow could refreeze early Sunday, especially on untreated surfaces. Motorists are urged to delay unnecessary travel and allow extra time if driving is unavoidable.

The Indiana Department of Transportation recommends drivers keep an emergency kit in their vehicles and check the latest road updates by calling 511.
