Central Indiana Weather Alert: Severe Storms on the Way

Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is set for a significant weather shift this weekend, with above-normal temperatures and increased chances of thunderstorms. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis reports that the region will experience highs in the upper 80s to low 90s today and tomorrow, along with a likelihood of thunderstorms from late Friday night through Saturday afternoon.

According to the NWS, today’s high is expected to reach 88°F with partly cloudy skies. Thunderstorms are anticipated late Friday night, continuing into Saturday, with a high of 86°F. The storms could be severe, with strong winds and heavy rainfall possible.

Sunday and Monday will bring a welcome respite, with temperatures dropping to the low 80s and sunny skies forecasted. Sunday’s high will be around 81°F, while Monday is expected to be slightly cooler at 80°F.

The week ahead promises varied weather. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high of 89°F. Wednesday will see temperatures soar to 90°F, with a 35% chance of rain. Thursday’s forecast includes scattered showers and a high of 83°F. By Friday, temperatures will rise again to 84°F under mostly sunny skies, and Saturday will be partly cloudy with a high of 81°F.
