Winds between 40 and 50 mph are possible within stronger cells, particularly across Boone, Delaware, and Hendricks Counties. The agency advises residents to secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary evening travel.
Light rain and overcast skies lingered early Friday morning with a steady temperature near 60°F. Showers are likely to increase by midday, with storms intensifying after 8 p.m. Areas such as Muncie, Kokomo, and Noblesville may experience brief power outages or tree limb damage due to gusty winds.
While the weekend looks dry, more thunderstorms are possible by midweek, especially Tuesday night into Wednesday. Spotter activation is not expected tonight, but residents should stay weather-aware in case stronger storms develop unexpectedly.
