Indianapolis, IN – A cool and cloudy weekend is expected across central Indiana, with a mix of light snow and rain developing by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Forecasters say Saturday will stay mostly dry except for isolated flurries and drizzle, with highs between 32°F and 39°F. Conditions will change overnight as a new system brings widespread precipitation early Sunday morning. Areas north of I-70—including Kokomo and Lafayette—could see light snow transitioning to a rain-snow mix, while locations farther south may experience fog and drizzle before turning to all rain by afternoon.
Snow accumulations are expected to range from a trace to around 1 inch, mainly north of I-70. Temperatures will hover in the upper 30s throughout the weekend, with cloudy skies persisting into Monday.
Motorists should prepare for slippery conditions early Sunday, especially on untreated roads and bridges before the transition to rain.
