Indianapolis, IN – Hoosiers can look forward to a warm and sunny weekend, with highs expected to reach the mid-to-upper 80s by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, afternoon temperatures will peak between 80–85°F on Saturday and climb further on Sunday, topping out between 84–88°F across central Indiana. Forecasters note that skies will stay mostly clear, with light winds and noticeably low humidity making conditions more comfortable despite the heat.

The forecast map highlights projected highs of 86°F in Indianapolis, 85°F in Lafayette, 87°F in Terre Haute, and 85°F in Seymour. This stretch of warm weather comes as many residents plan outdoor events and travel, providing ideal conditions for late-September activities.

Meteorologists stress that while the heat is unusual for early fall, the lower humidity will help limit the stickiness often felt during Indiana’s summer months. Drivers are advised to stay hydrated and prepared for warm cars and pavement during peak afternoon hours.

With no rain expected through Sunday night, residents can expect stable conditions for both recreational outings and weekend travel. Looking ahead, forecasters will continue to monitor next week’s pattern for any changes in temperature or precipitation.
