Indianapolis, IN – Hoosiers can expect warm, dry weather to dominate the weekend, with little relief from rain until early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said Friday that broad high pressure will keep Indiana dry and unseasonably warm through Sunday, October 5, 2025. The agency noted that while no rainfall is expected over the weekend, a few showers could move into the state Monday and Tuesday.
According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, the longer-term outlook points to continued above-normal temperatures for much of the region. Between October 6–10, Indiana is likely to see warmer-than-average conditions, with chances for light to moderate rainfall across central and southern counties.
The extended forecast shows Indiana sitting in the “near normal” zone for precipitation but in the “above normal” range for temperatures. That means residents should expect continued warm afternoons and dry conditions, a pattern more typical of late summer than early October.
With harvest season underway, the dry spell could benefit farmers by easing fieldwork, though some crops may still need additional rainfall to finish strong. Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend can expect favorable conditions.
