Lincoln, Illinois – A soggy stretch continues across central Illinois as scattered thunderstorms, patchy dense fog, and breezy conditions are expected to linger through Monday, with highs hovering in the upper 70s to low 80s.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, isolated to scattered showers and storms are likely today, especially south of I-72 where storm chances reach up to 70%. Foggy conditions early Saturday morning may reduce visibility, especially in low-lying areas. Winds will remain light out of the north at 5 to 10 mph.

By Sunday, expect storm chances to taper slightly, though a 30–50% chance remains, particularly in western and central counties. Winds will shift westward and increase to 15–20 mph, adding a breezy element to already damp conditions.

Monday brings some relief with only a 15–30% chance of lingering showers, but breezy west winds up to 20 mph could still affect outdoor activities. Residents are advised to drive cautiously in fog-prone areas and avoid flooded roads during periods of heavier rain.

Storm risks diminish by Monday night, but scattered rainfall may return later in the week.
