Springfield, IL – Residents of Central Illinois can expect clear but chilly conditions tonight as high pressure moves overhead. Temperatures will drop to between 28-32°F overnight before a warming trend begins heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, IL, southerly winds will return as the high pressure shifts east, bringing near-seasonal temperatures back to the region. Friday will see highs between 58-63°F, followed by slightly cooler temperatures on Saturday, ranging from 51-59°F.
The warmest days of the forecast will be Sunday and Tuesday, with highs once again reaching the low 60s. Monday will bring a slight dip, with temperatures expected to top out between 51-56°F. Conditions throughout the five-day period will remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy.
