Lincoln, Illinois – Scattered showers and low clouds will persist across Central Illinois through Monday morning, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s overnight before warmer, drier weather settles in midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, a 30% chance of rain remains tonight and Monday, particularly east of the Illinois River. By Tuesday, skies will clear and highs will climb into the low to mid-70s, continuing a warming trend through Friday.

Cities including Springfield, Bloomington, and Champaign may see light rainfall Monday morning, but no severe weather is expected. Wednesday and Thursday bring only slight chances of additional showers—15% to 20%—as daytime highs stay comfortably between 69°F and 76°F. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s.

Residents can expect a return to typical early-May conditions, ideal for outdoor work and spring planting. Those traveling Monday should be alert to slick spots in areas that receive rain, but widespread impacts are not anticipated.

More sunshine is expected by Tuesday afternoon, and no high-impact weather is forecast through next weekend. The National Weather Service will issue updates as needed if conditions shift.
