According to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois, the next significant chance of rain will arrive Tuesday afternoon, particularly Tuesday night, when some strong to severe storms are possible. Residents should prepare for varying weather, as temperatures are predicted to remain high, with many days seeing highs in the 90s.
Today’s temperatures will range from 84 to 90 degrees, with partly cloudy skies. Monday will bring mostly sunny conditions and temperatures between 87 and 90 degrees. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day, with temperatures soaring to between 93 and 98 degrees and a heat index of 100-105. The strong to severe storms are expected late Tuesday into the night.
Wednesday will offer a slight respite, with temperatures dropping to a high of 86-90 degrees and more thunderstorms. Thursday will bring mostly sunny weather and temperatures between 84 and 88 degrees. By Friday, the region can expect another round of storms with highs ranging from 91 to 94 degrees. Saturday will see temperatures between 91 and 97 degrees with occasional breaks from the heat.
