According to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois, seasonal and dry weather will persist through the end of the week, with sunshine and temperatures reaching up to 80°F on Thursday and Friday. However, the weather is set to change as thunderstorms are expected to develop late Friday night. The chance of storms increases significantly on Saturday, with a 70% likelihood of thunderstorms continuing into Sunday and Monday.
The National Weather Service warns that these storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds. Temperatures over the weekend will range from the mid-70s to mid-80s, with overnight lows in the upper 50s to upper 60s. Monday is expected to be the warmest day, with temperatures climbing to the low 80s.
