Champaign, IL – Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures will dominate Champaign’s weather through the weekend, with a high near 78 degrees today. Winds will remain light, coming from the east at 3 to 5 mph. Clear skies will follow overnight, with temperatures dropping to a cool 48 degrees.

Friday will bring even warmer conditions, with a high of 81 degrees and light southwest winds picking up to 11 mph, gusting as high as 16 mph. Clouds will begin to increase Friday night, but temperatures will remain mild, with lows around 57 degrees.

Saturday will continue the trend of warm weather, with a high near 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies. A slight cool-down is expected Sunday, with a high of 71 and gusty northwest winds, reaching up to 18 mph in the afternoon.

Looking ahead to Columbus Day, expect cooler temperatures, with a high near 58 degrees. Frost is possible early next week, especially Tuesday morning as lows dip into the mid-30s. Be sure to protect sensitive plants as temperatures drop.
