Lincoln, IL – Central Illinois is in for an unseasonably warm stretch through midweek before a cold front brings rain late Thursday into Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Lincoln.

Forecasters say breezy winds will help keep temperatures above normal, with highs ranging from the low 60s to low 70s through Wednesday. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to stay mostly sunny, with only a slim chance of rain and gusts that could make conditions feel warmer than usual for early November.

By Thursday, clouds will increase as a cold front approaches, bringing a 40% chance of showers Thursday night and continuing into Friday morning. Highs will remain in the mid-60s, but temperatures are likely to cool slightly heading into the weekend.

Friday will stay breezy with lingering showers possible, though most areas are expected to dry out by Friday evening. The front may mark a shift toward more seasonable fall conditions next week.

Residents should take advantage of the warm, dry weather early in the week before rain arrives late Thursday.
