Champaign, IL – Central Illinois will experience widespread frost early Wednesday morning as temperatures fall between 33°F and 35°F.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Piatt, Champaign, and surrounding counties from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. The advisory warns of frost formation that could impact crops and outdoor plants. In rural areas, isolated freezes may also occur.

Residents are advised to protect outdoor vegetation and ensure exposed water pipes are insulated to prevent freezing.
