GRANGEVILLE, Idaho – A cold, clear night will settle over north-central Idaho, bringing a Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Missoula.
Temperatures are forecast to fall to around 32°F in the Orofino and Grangeville region, allowing frost to form on lawns, gardens, and vehicles before sunrise. According to the NWS, unprotected plants and outdoor vegetation may be damaged or killed if left uncovered overnight.
Residents are encouraged to cover tender plants with cloth or move potted vegetation indoors. Early-morning drivers should allow extra time to clear frost from windshields, especially along U.S. Highway 95 and State Route 13 where valley temperatures will be coldest.
Conditions will warm quickly once the sun rises Monday, but forecasters note that another frosty morning could return midweek as dry air and light winds persist.
