Orlando, FL – The morning air feels heavy and still across Central Florida this Sunday, a sign that the atmosphere is primed for storms. Clouds are thickening over the I-4 corridor, and the region sits squarely in line for another round of scattered rain and thunderstorms before a much calmer stretch arrives.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, showers and a few isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop late Sunday morning and become more widespread by the afternoon. The best chance for rain comes between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with brief downpours, lightning, and gusty winds possible. Travelers on I-4 and SR-417 should watch for sudden visibility drops and slick pavement during heavier bursts of rain.

Monday brings another unsettled day, with an 80% chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms, especially after 2 p.m. Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s, keeping humidity high before a drier air mass pushes in from the north Monday night.

By Tuesday, Central Florida will trade the storms for sunshine. Highs in the low 80s and light breezes from the north will make for a near-perfect start to Halloween week.

The holiday itself looks warm, dry, and breezy — perfect for trick-or-treaters and outdoor events. Still, subtle hints in long-range models suggest a chilly November ahead for much of the Southeast.
