Melbourne, FL – October 2025 brought an unusually wet and slightly cooler pattern to east central Florida, with several cities recording some of their wettest Octobers on record. According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, persistent onshore flow and lingering frontal boundaries led to widespread rainfall totals well above average.

Titusville saw the most dramatic totals, with 21.08 inches of rain—over 16 inches above normal for the month. Melbourne followed with 11.50 inches, marking its 5th wettest October since records began in 1937. Vero Beach and Daytona Beach also recorded significant surpluses, each logging more than 4 inches above normal.

According to the agency, the heaviest rain fell during the final week of October, particularly across northern Brevard County and the Eustis–Mount Dora area, where single-day totals ranged from 10 to 20 inches on October 26.

Despite the extreme rainfall, temperatures across the region were slightly below normal. Daytona Beach averaged 74.0°F, about 0.4° below normal, while Orlando held steady near average at 75.5°F.

The wet pattern helped ease dry conditions heading into November, but residents are urged to remain cautious of lingering soggy soils and potential flooding risks if additional rain develops in the coming weeks.
