Melbourne, FL – Beachgoers across Florida’s Atlantic coastline are urged to remain cautious Friday as a moderate rip current risk persists. Strong currents and chilly surf conditions are expected along A1A, with lifeguards recommending swimmers stay near flagged zones.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures along the Treasure Coast will hover in the mid-to-upper 60s Friday, slightly cooler than typical for mid-January. Additional scattered showers are forecast to move into the region by late afternoon, impacting areas from Okeechobee to Melbourne.

A hazardous weather outlook issued early Friday warns of life-threatening rip currents. Winds are expected to strengthen tonight, potentially creating dangerous boating conditions offshore. Lifeguards stress the importance of never swimming alone and heeding posted warnings at all times.

Looking ahead, Saturday will bring partly sunny skies with a high near 78 degrees, though a slight chance of evening showers exists. Cooler temperatures will follow, with Sunday’s high dropping to the low 60s and a chance of storms after 1 p.m. Winds may gust as high as 20 mph.

The extended forecast suggests a cold front arriving early next week, with lows potentially dipping into the 30s by Tuesday night. Rain chances increase to 60% by midweek, with hazardous boating conditions continuing through Wednesday.

Residents and visitors are advised to monitor local updates and plan outdoor activities accordingly. Check weather apps or NOAA forecasts for the latest information.
