Orlando, FL – Central Florida faces a mix of dry weather and dangerous coastal conditions as rip currents, rough seas, and flooding concerns persist through Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid-80s, but the Atlantic coast is under a High Rip Current Risk, making local beaches hazardous. Boaters and swimmers are urged to exercise caution.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, FL, the strongest risks are concentrated along Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties. Boaters are warned of rough seas, with waves reaching 6 to 7 feet offshore and strong winds up to 20 knots. Small Craft Advisories are in place through the day.

Those traveling along I-95 should be aware of gusty winds near the coast. Beachgoers are advised to avoid entering the water if possible, with the NWS warning that rip currents can quickly pull swimmers out to sea. If caught in a rip current, the best course is to swim parallel to the shore until escaping the current’s pull.

Temperatures across Central Florida will peak around 84 degrees today, with sunny conditions expected throughout. Thursday will bring similar weather, with highs reaching 85 degrees and calm, mostly clear skies forecast for the evening. Winds will remain consistent from the northeast, keeping temperatures mild through the weekend.

Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will continue to see highs in the low 80s, with partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain by Monday. Boaters along the Saint Johns River are cautioned, as river levels remain high due to moderate flooding in several areas. Hazardous conditions are likely to persist well into next week.
