Raleigh, NC – Much of central and eastern North Carolina will see frosty conditions early Saturday morning, as the National Weather Service offices in Raleigh and Newport/Morehead City have issued Frost Advisories from 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Saturday, November 1.
The advisories cover a wide stretch of counties from the Triad through the Triangle and east toward Greenville, including Wake, Durham, Guilford, Alamance, Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, and Pitt Counties, as well as Duplin, Lenoir, Martin, and Greene Counties farther south and east.
Forecasters expect overnight lows in the lower to mid-30s, which will be cold enough for frost formation in many rural and open areas. The Triad, Triangle, and Coastal Plain could all experience widespread frost, while urban centers like Raleigh and Greensboro may see more limited coverage.
Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors and cover outdoor vegetation to prevent frost damage. This will likely be one of the first widespread frost events of the season across central and eastern North Carolina.
Temperatures will rebound quickly after sunrise Saturday, with a cool but sunny start to November expected statewide.
