HANFORD, Calif. – After a brief round of overnight rain and isolated thunderstorms, dry and warmer conditions are set to return across the southern San Joaquin Valley by midweek. Showers will linger into early Tuesday morning before skies gradually clear from west to east through the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, steady rain and embedded thunderstorms overnight brought light rainfall totals — mostly between a tenth and a quarter inch — but heavier pockets fell near Lemoore and Visalia. Gusts reached 15 mph at times as the system pushed through the region.
By Wednesday, the weather pattern will flip back to sunshine and calm conditions. Highs will rise from the upper 50s Tuesday to the mid-60s Wednesday and near 70 degrees by Friday. Skies will stay mostly clear through the weekend, offering excellent visibility for harvest work, outdoor events, and regional travel along Highways 99 and 198.
Residents should expect cool mornings in the upper 40s and light fog potential in rural areas early Wednesday and Thursday. The dry pattern is expected to hold through early next week, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s by Sunday.
According to forecasters, no additional rain is on the horizon for the Hanford area through the weekend, marking a return to classic fall conditions across the Central Valley.
